Types of Wireless Earpieces (Wireless Earpieces)

Wireless Earpieces

These are the three basic types of wireless earpieces:

Open back headphones are one design. The ear pieces sit on the ears and they are typically very lightweight. They are fine for use with a phone, but due to their construction have a lot of sound leakage. This means that others may hear the phone conversation or background noise may be distracting as the person wearing the headsets will be able to hear it. The best office environment for these types would be a quiet area. Open back headphones come in a variety of styles. Some have headbands, other have bands that go around the back of the head and there are also types that sit on the ear without a headband at all.

Closed back headsets are more sound proof than open back styles. Closed back headsets usually form a seal to the ear. They work great in a loud or busy office environment. They do tend to be heavier than open back and this may cause discomfort when worn for long periods of time. As with open back they come with a variety of headband styles.

Ear buds or in the ear headsets are the smallest and lightest type. They fit inside the ear and have no headband. This headset style often offers lightweight and good sound quality. They fit snuggly in the ear which block outside noise. It can take some people a period of time before these types of headsets feel comfortable. Also they should be custom selected for each person so that they fit properly.
